Marking a new trend in the Sri Lankan education, the government has activated a programme to develop thousand secondary Schools with modern amenities. Under this programme one thousand “Mahindodaya Technological Laboratories’’ will be established within
the school system. The project is monitored under the aegis of Mr. Mohan Lal Grero, the Monitoring MP of the ministry of Education and Ministry of youth Affairs and Skills Development.
As a first step, in this programme, a Technological Laboratory erected at the Ratmalana Kotalawalapura Vidyalaya, ceremonially opened by his Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa on 28th July and the same will be conferred is the benefit to students.
The first Technological laboratory erected under this programme consists of a complete Modern Computer Laboratory, Distance Education Unit, a Language Laboratory, and a Mathematics Laboratory. As a precursor to make Sri Lanka a Knowledge hub in Asia, this project does not use government resources but solely is funded by Mr. Dhammika Perera, Chairman of Vallibel Finance. Mr. Mohan Lal Grero and several well-wishers jointly completed the project within 84 days.

Dissanayake and other Ministers, Secretaries of Ministries, Directors of Education, Members of the Municipal council and other invited guests.
